Gumboy Crazy Adventures – Award-winning, Captivating Game
When and if you have some free time on your hands, you will undoubtedly want to do something enjoyable. You could for example go for a walk – and bump into someone you’ve been desperately trying to avoid. Or you could go for a drink with your mates – and wake up with a killer hangover that will render you useless for the better half of a day.
I propose you do something that is quite entertaining, doesn’t involve you leaving the house, and puts the computer you spent good money on to proper use – I am of course talking about playing a computer game. And to be more precise, I am talking about playing Gumboy Crazy Adventures.
This CINEMAX-developed computer game weighs in at some 45MB, so download it may take a while, especially if you’re on a lousy internet connection. The wait will prove to be worth it once you immerse yourself into the captivating gameplay. The installation process will not be sluggish – quite the opposite. I counted some 8 clicks between launching the setup wizard and until the game was up and running.
The gameplay goes something like this: you control Gumboy, who is essentially a ball and has extraordinary rubbery characteristics (roll, bounce, jump, fly, float). You move than ball around large, abstract levels – there are some 40 levels in 6 unique worlds to go through. You have to complete various goals, and you can collect powerups that will change Gumboy’s shape (turn him from a ball to a star for example), change the material from which Gumboy is made of (gum, air, water), or give Gumboy some special powers (magnetism).
You can play Gumboy free of charge on your Windows-powered computer for 30 minutes. This should be enough time for you to see how interesting the game is; it should be enough time for you to decide if you want to spend money on the game or not. I’m thinking you will want to keep playing once those 30 minutes are up.
